Community Youth Sporting Activities
Pompton Lakes sports organizations are unique in the sense that they are independently managed by the individual organization, which is separate from the Pompton Lakes Recreation Commission.
These organizations offer parents the opportunity to become actively involved by volunteering time to help manage, coach, assist with field care, lend a hand at snack stands or be the team Mom or Dad while at the same time spending quality time with their children. These organizations are committed to promoting good sportsmanship and teaching the fundamentals of the sport.
PAL Basketball was formed in 1994 providing a winter program that included over 500 boys and girls from Pompton Lakes and the surrounding area. The program provides fun basketball with maximum playing time and player participation. The winter program includes in-town and travel teams for both boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 and a clinic for grades 1 and 2. Sign ups are held at the end of September.
